Pencil drawing of a pair of painted Dutch clogs surrounded by tulips, in my Canson sketchbook with a mechanical pencil and blending stumps – from the first light lines to the folk-art pattern and the last shading. Real-time drawing with calm music, no talking.

A little piece of Dutch spring: a pair of wooden clogs, painted with flowers and dots like traditional folk-art klompen, standing in a bunch of tulips, with the word KLOMPEN (Dutch for clogs) lettered underneath. The video follows the whole drawing in real time in my Canson sketchbook, from the first light outlines to the finished page.
Everything is drawn in graphite. The shapes of the clogs and the tulips start as soft sketch lines, then a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil adds the clean lines, the flower pattern on the clogs and the darker shading inside. Blending stumps smooth the shadows at the end. There is no voice-over, only calm music, so you can draw along at your own pace.
A cheerful spring subject for your own sketchbook. More flowers: the colored pencil sunflower and Rita Berman's spring tulips coloring page. More drawings are in the sketchbook drawings collection.
