Octopus drawing in graphite pencil: a big-eyed octopus with long curling tentacles full of suckers, from the first light sketch to the deep shading, drawn after a weekend at the beach in my Canson sketchbook with a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil, blending stumps and a kneaded eraser. Real-time drawing with calm music, no talking.

After a weekend at the beach I wanted to draw something from the sea, and it became this octopus: a round head with big, glossy eyes looking straight at you and long tentacles that curl and twist across the whole page of my Canson sketchbook.
It starts with a very light sketch of the eyes and the flowing tentacle shapes. Then a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil builds up the graphite in layers: the head gets a soft texture, the eyes get dark pupils with bright highlights, and every tentacle is outlined with rows of small circular suckers. Blending stumps smooth the shading and a kneaded eraser lifts out the light edges, so the tentacles look round and heavy. Around the octopus, faint little jellyfish and bubbles float in the background of the page.
There is no voice-over, only calm music, so you can draw along at your own pace or simply watch the octopus slowly appear. More pencil art is in the sketchbook drawings.
