Colored Pencil Sunflower Drawing: A Sunflower Waking Up — Marah Maitale Art

A sunflower that is just waking up: in the middle of the seed head a sleepy little face opens its eyes and smiles, surrounded by warm golden and orange petals. The video follows the whole drawing in real time in my Canson sketchbook.

The petals are layered in Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils, from pale yellow to deep ochre, with ballpoint pen for the fine lines in the seed head. A white pencil and a white gel pen add the last highlights. There is no voice-over, only calm music, so you can draw along at your own pace.

A cheerful, easy subject for a summer page in your own sketchbook.
