"Shallow Grave" is one of the spookiest pages in Jasmine Becket-Griffith's Halloween Coloring Book: a big-eyed blonde girl in a little blue top and skirt lies in the grass, blue makeup running down her cheeks, right next to a skeleton resting in an open grave. A black shovel lies beside her and tiny yellow flowers grow all over the lawn.

I colored the whole page with Derwent Coloursoft pencils – a fresh mix of light and yellow greens for the grass, warm ochre and browns for the bones, deep indigo and royal purple for her clothes and the dark earth of the grave. White details and highlights come from a white Derwent pencil and a white gel pen, the fine lines from a Micron pen.
