How to draw a mother and child for Mother's Day: an easy, realistic graphite pencil drawing, step by step.

A quiet drawing for Mother's Day: a mother and her child, drawn in graphite pencil in my sketchbook. The video follows the whole drawing in real time, from the first light lines to the soft shading on the faces and hair.
I use a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil for the outlines, an HB pencil for the shading, a blending stump to soften the tones and a kneaded eraser to lift out the highlights. There is no voice-over, only calm music, so you can draw along at your own pace.
A handmade drawing like this makes a lovely Mother's Day card — or simply a moment for yourself.
