Johanna Basford Lost Ocean Color Along: Colorful Fish — Marah Maitale Art

A page from Lost Ocean: An Inky Adventure and Coloring Book for Adults by Johanna Basford. One big fish fills the page, covered in fan-shaped scales, swimming between branching coral and little air bubbles. This page was colored as a collab with Hana (@colorful_hanasayuri), a colorist and YouTuber from the Philippines who colored the same page in her own style. Her version is shown at the end of the video.

The fish is colored with Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils: turquoise, emerald and light green in the scales, with warm yellow and ochre between them and dotted fins. The coral branches get dark cadmium orange and green, and the deep blue water around the fish is done with water-soluble oil pastels. The pencil and pastel numbers are listed in the video description on YouTube.

There is no voice-over, only the coloring process and calm music. More Johanna Basford: the Christmas tree coloring page and a flip through of Johanna's Christmas. More colored pages are in the adult coloring pages collection.
