Coloring a purple pansy (viola) in my sketchbook with Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils: soft purple layers on the petal edges, fine blue veins, a golden center and gentle highlights lifted with an eraser pencil. Real-time coloring with calm music, no talking.

A single pansy, or viola, fills the page: five round petals that fade from deep violet at the edges to almost white in the middle, with fine blue-grey veins running toward a warm golden center. The flower is colored with Faber-Castell Polychromos in many light layers, so the purple stays soft instead of flat.
The last part of the video shows a simple trick for colored pencils: an eraser pencil lifts a little color back out of the petals, which gives them a soft glow and makes the veins stand out. There is no voice-over, only the drawing and calm music.
