Christmas Elf Drawing in Pencil: Bringing the Christmas Light
Christmas pencil drawing in my sketchbook: a little elf girl with pointy ears, a star-tipped hat and a long scarf glides across the ice on her skates, reaching for a glowing Christmas light. Drawn with a mechanical pencil and blending stumps, black and white. Sped up, calm music, no talking.
A small festive scene in my sketchbook: a little elf girl with pointy ears, big eyes and a tall hat with a star on the tip glides across the ice. Her long knitted scarf flies out behind her as she leans forward and stretches out her mittened hand towards a glowing Christmas light hanging in the air.
Everything is drawn in black and white with a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil, from the first loose lines of the pose to the folds of her skirt and the stripes of her scarf. Blending stumps soften the shading and a kneaded eraser lifts out the glow around the light.
The video is sped up, so the whole drawing comes together in under four minutes, with calm music and no talking. There is also a 30-second Short of the same drawing, and the video ends with a Day of the Dead sugar skull in graphite. More festive art: the Christmas & New Year drawings.
