How to draw a Christmas angel in pencil: a kneeling angel with long hair, closed eyes and folded hands, big feathered wings and a flowing dress, finished with the words "A Holly Jolly Christmas", snowflakes and little ornaments, drawn in my Canson sketchbook with a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil, blending stumps and a kneaded eraser. Real-time drawing with calm Christmas music, no talking.

A quiet Christmas angel on a page of my Canson sketchbook: she kneels with her eyes closed and her hands folded, her long hair falling over her shoulder and two big feathered wings behind her, with "A Holly Jolly Christmas" written above and snowflakes all around.
The drawing starts with a light sketch of the face, the body and the curve of the wings. With a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil the graphite is built up in soft layers: fine strokes for the hair, longer lines for each feather and smooth shading in the folds of the dress. Blending stumps soften the shadows and a kneaded eraser lifts out the highlights. At the end come the hand-lettered words, a few snowflakes and little round ornaments.
There is no voice-over, only calm Christmas music, so you can draw along at your own pace or simply relax and watch. More festive pages are in the Christmas & New Year drawings.
