Live drawing session, part 3: shading and finishing my surreal dream world inside a sphere – stairway, portal and floating shapes – with graphite pencil. Drawing from imagination with calm music, no talking.
This is the third and final part of a live sketchbook session: a surreal dream world inside a giant sphere. A stairway climbs up to a glowing portal, with strange trees, floating shapes and little creatures with big round eyes watching from small domed houses at the bottom of the page.
In this part the drawing gets its depth: long pencil strokes shade the curve of the sphere, the portal is darkened around its edges, and the small details around the stairway are finished. Everything is drawn from imagination in a hardbound Canson sketchbook.
There is no voice-over, only the drawing process and calm music. Watch parts 1 and 2 on the channel to see the dream world grow from the first lines.
